I find it interesting that the idea for a lake here began in 1932 when the Presiding Judge of Jackson County requested that a study be done for a potential park, which didn’t open until 1959. You can walk up to the tall chain-linked fence and feed whatever animals will come to see what you’ve got for them. *A full wet suit is recommended when the watercraft is in use from October 1 until May 15 of each year.One of the most unique aspects of this park is the Hoofed Animal Enclosure, which features herds of buffalo and elk in separate paddocks. *SUPs may be operated from sunrise to sunset only *SUPs are allowed on Lake Jacomo seven days a week and are allowed on Blue Springs Lake, Longview Lake and Prairie Lee Lake on Mondays - Thursdays only, and not on holidays. *A US Coast Guard approved personal flotation device is required to be worn while in use. *Only one occupant per watercraft is allowed.
